I turned on the news just before heading to bed Sunday night to discover the finding and killing of Osama bin Laden the talk of every news source. While watching the news coverage and seeing the celebration in the streets of America I could identify with the gratitude being expressed for having found such a brutal mastermind of terror, I could understand the relief of those who were thankful he was dead. But for the follower of Christ what’s the proper response to this news?
Is rejoicing over Osama bin Laden’s death the proper response for a Christian? Is celebration and jubilation a Biblical response? I’m not the only one whose conflicted. You may have some questions of your own. The following level-headed Biblical thinking on this issue should help.
