Almost everyone leaves behind a tombstone and an epitaph when they die. But not Jesus. On Easter Sunday we celebrate Jesus’ resurrection. He left no last words chiseled in stone. We know he rose from the dead because He appeared and spoke directly to His disciples. And today, because He lives, He is able to offer hope and eternal life to all who trust in Him for forgiveness of sin and salvation.

Love and Submission (part 2) – Colossians 3:18-19

Love and Submission – Colossians 3:18-19 (Part 1)
God’s Words are important and two words we find in Colossians 3:18 and 19 are love and submission. These are commands believers in Jesus ought to take seriously when in the marriage relationship. All believers, married or not, should understand these commands since the marriage relationship is an earthly example of Christ’s relationship to His church. The Name of Christ – Colossians 3:17
God’s People are called to live and serve for God’s glory — and that means that we need to be devoted to doing everything in the name of the Lord Jesus. In word or deed, everything. And in Colossians 3:15-17 we see that also means we do all things with thankfulness to God. This is our testimony and witness to the world. Follow along as we consider Colossians 3:17.
The Word of Christ – Colossians 3:16
Colossians 3:15-17 delivers a repeating theme of thankfulness that should be characteristic of all believers in Jesus Christ. In verse 17 we learn that thankfulness to God will flow naturally from the heart that is saturated with the Word of Christ.
The Peace of Christ – Colossians 3:15
Are you a thankful person? If so, why? If not, why not? Some people are thankful when they look around and realize things could be worse. But is that the kind of thankfulness the Bible teaches us to have? Follow along as we consider why we should be thankful and discover the source of our peace.
Put These On – Colossians 3:12-14 (part 2)
As God’s people put death that which is earthly in them, that which is sinful, and as they seek to put on as God’s chosen ones, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility and meekness they must also put on patience. It takes patience to be the people God is making us as we walk with Christ. Follow along as we continue our look at Colossians 3:12-14.
