After a full summer at Camp Barakel we’re enjoying a week of vacation; camping with family at one of our favorite state parks in northern Michigan.
In just a couple of days there has already been lots of walking trails, swimming, volleyball, hammock resting, fun with children and grandchildren and good food.
One thing we’re enjoying in the evening is sitting around a campfire reading a chapter of scripture as we read through the book of 1 Thessalonians this week.
Here’s a verse that stood out to me last night.
“And we also thank God constantly for this, that when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men but as what it really is, the word of God, which is at work in you believers.” – 1 Thessalonians 2:13
May it always be that we receive God’s Word wholeheartedly, resting in the joy that He works in us, shaping us into the people He wants us to be.
