The staff at Camp Barakel were saddened this week to have to cancel our beloved His-ability week scheduled for early June. The decision was not made easily or taken lightly.
His-ability campers are adults with special needs, many of whom have been attending for years. It’s a week of camp designed just for them and is often the highlight of their year.
But out of concern for their health and the uncertainty of what early June would look like with the Covid-19 virus, we felt that we needed to cancel.
When I saw how Jeremy Linsley, our Program Staff Team Leader, delivered the news to each of the campers I was very encouraged. It’s a blessing to serve alongside people who care. Jeremy recorded a personalized video message for each camper to share the news and our love for them.
I thank God for Jeremy and for each of the staff here at Barakel that takes seriously the opportunity God has given us to make the sharing the Gospel possible in this place. Our desire is that the name of the Lord is honored and magnified far and wide through the ministry of Camp Barakel.
Thank you for being a part of this special ministry through your faithful prayers and support.
